  • photo Holy lord, I need to have this SPACE DESK in my life. In avocado green. I don’t care if there isn’t room for it in my apartment; I will make room for it.

It was designed by the French sculptor and designer [Maurice Calka] in 1969, based on a polished stone and made almost entirely out of fibreglass, including the integral adjustable swivel chair - although that does have an upholstered lining for a bit of comfort.

Totally forgot to post this at the end of last semester.

This is a short film based on Little Red Riding Hood that I wrote and co-produced as my Production and Editing II final. My partner, Chris, was director and co-producer, as well as editor. Chris is really talented, and I had so much fun working with him. Sometimes I feel like I’m just writing in circles with little to show for it, so it’s fantastic to see something I’ve written brought to life, even if it’s just a little class project. Hope you enjoy!

  • photo These wooden watches are so badass.

I need a watch but I can’t really afford a nice one. I’m thinking maybe I’ll ask for one of these for my birthday. My parents like to buy practical gifts; I got bed sheets for Christmas. But that’s awesome, because I needed bed sheets and now I have really nice ones. And now I need a badass wooden watch so I always know what time it is, in style.

This is one of the things I’ve been attempting in my spare time.

    Dear God, I love ABBA.

    notes Finals Week

Things I Want To Do Today

    • Brush up on my French and do some listening comprehension
    • Play my ukulele
    • Bake another couple batches of cookies for Christmas presents
    • Clean off my desk
    • Bother my cat
    • Work on all the presents I’m currently knitting
    • Power through the fifth season of Doctor Who with Kat
    • Go to the bar and spend our trivia gift certificates on fancy, expensive food

Things I Do Not Want To Do Today

    • Put together two “Fast Facts” sequences and find/record three episodes-worth of background music for the web series
    • Finalize the edits of the last three episodes and upload them
    • Work on my online portfolio
    • Gather and organize production paperwork for my Production & Editing II final
    • Do foley for my Production & Editing II final (wait…wait…no. Put this on the “Want To Do” list. It involves hitting a pumpkin with lamp and other fun things.)
    • Transfer all my editing stuff over to another external hard drive (if it has enough space) so I can return my current one to the school on Tuesday
    • Read through and annotate 9 five-minute scripts for the independent project I’m helping produce over J-term

Guess which one of these lists will get done today.

Last night I got to boil a fake plastic hand in a pot of water FOR SCIENCE! Alright, it wasn’t really for science, it was for my P&E final. I just like saying that I’m doing things FOR SCIENCE! But it didn’t melt, and that’s what’s important.

Ted totally won this episode.

I don’t normally take part in any of this “re-blogging” business, but How I Met Your Mother is one of my biggest current television obsessions and this episode was great.

  • text One for the Blog

I had a dream a couple nights ago that another friend of mine from high school died, and a bunch of random people I’ve met throughout the years wanted to make a tribute video to his life. The only footage we had of him was in some sort of obscure file format that could only be read by this special ancient editing system of which only five existed in the entire world. I specifically remember a segment of the dream in which Giles, from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, read to us about their origin out of a dusty, leather-bound book. It included something about them being specially forged for a king and then being banished to the four (five?!) corners of the earth for some reason.

So our ragtag group, including Giles, a random girl from one of my classes junior year whom I barely spoke to, and a few others traveled the globe seeking out these five special computers and the mythical editing software within. One of them was being stored in a rural elementary school, which we had to break into in the middle of the night. Another was in the dank, bat-filled dungeon of a haunted castle. One was in an abandoned warehouse on a rocky island off the coast that we had to sail to during a raging storm. Far and wide we traveled with an external hard-drive and a dusty user manual, hatching daring schemes and completing heroic feats to finish the final cut of our masterpiece.

Basically the point I’m trying to get to is that I have the coolest dreams ever.
